Jens Söring Prepares an All-Out Assault on the Haysom Family

A new low even for him. Will he get yet more prominent lawyers to torch their reputations?

For the last few months, Jens Söring has been touting “new developments in the background” of this case. He even started a hashtag: #DasBlattWendetSich (The table is turning). I believe I know exactly what the new “innocence campaign” will be all about, and it’s grotesque.

Soering, I believe, is planning to amplify outlandish accusations by a female member of the Haysom family. She accuses multiple fellow members of the Haysom family of murdering Derek and Nancy Haysom and makes other physically impossible accusations, supported by no evidence whatsoever. She has created a YouTube video setting out these allegations. I will not link to it here, because I don’t want to bring unnecessary attention to these claims. Judging by the video itself, I believe this person is having some sort of mental health crisis.

Further broadcasting these accusations would of course be deeply traumatic to the Haysom family, but that of course means nothing to Söring. Nor does the fact that these allegations conflict with almost all of his own (multiple conflicting) previous innocence theories. Nor does the fact that these allegations are grossly defamatory. Accusing someone of a serious crime without proof is defamation per se in Canada and the USA, and it can even be a crime in Germany and quite possibly Canada.

What is particulary disturbing is that Söring posted an update from Berlin in which he said he was there in part to prepare the “table-turning” revelations. No doubt he is seeking support from some of his previous political supporters, who include former German President Christian Wulff, and CDU politician Peter Beyer. My sources indicate Soering may also have won the support of another highly prominent lawyer, but I cannot confirm this.

If any of these men appears alongside Söring at a press conference airing these sordid allegations, they will be complicit in the exploitation of a vulnerable person and a defamation campaign against innocent people. They will be helping Jens Soering, after 40 years, re-victimize the family he tore apart in 1985. They will cover themselves in disgrace. And every member of the Haysom family — and their lawyers — will be watching their every word.

I have said it before, and I will say it again: Dozens of decent, intelligent people have already damaged their reputations by taking what Jens Soering says at face value. This time, however, there can be no excuse. Any decent person can see these allegations are false, and no decent person will associate himself or herself with them.
