It's no mystery why he won't agree to it. He will fudge and come up with new rationalizations

I agree. He‘ll explain test results away. He‘s been to the Haysom House. Apart from that, he could claim that Elizabeth transferred his DNA to the crime scene.

And let‘s face it: Most of the cold cases that are solved with advanced DNA testing are cases in which no prior legitimate connection between victim and perpetrator existed. Stephanie Isaacson is one of those.

The key thing here is uncertainty. The new tests could come up with nothing (probably the most likely outcome), but they might also show numerous hits in the bathroom (where Söring bandaged his bleeding hand) and on the frame of the front door (where he left 4 Type O bloodstains).

At this point, Söring will remember that Elizabeth ordered him to give her a vial of blood in mid-March, and he dared not ask his "goddess" what she wanted it for, because he was so deep in the "folie a deux".

Well if they had showered together the hair in the bathroom sink belongs very likely to her. We aren't looking for uncertainty, we are looking for puzzle pieces of evidence which will fit closer to a then more likely story and not the choice between he said or she said!

The story of an exchange of Soering's blood came to my mind cause there had been a x'mas letter with a blood drop and a letter Elizabeth had written later to him in bad German. "Greetings from an old cow with blood"....But there was no explanation in this direction by Soering. So further conspiracy in this direction is impossible, even her friend NB had worked in a medical department during this time 😂

If DNA of both is inside the 3 beer cans which had been found in the trash can of the master bedroom, then the case is really closed!

In my opinion the new story and circumstances around the quality of Burton's work should give Wes Nance enough reason to investigate at least for Derek's DNA. That would clear up a connection between the victim's DNA and the swabs which had been stored for decades in Burton's possession.

There is also no cooperation from Elizabeth. She could help to give her version definite forensic substance.

Re more DNA testing: Elizabeth has said she would welcome it!

She did say so originally, but then later changed her mind. This is all recounted in the June 2022 "Small Town, Big Crime" podcasts.

It's deeply unfortunate that she changed her mind, because it is very likely that *she* has legal standing to request the testing Söring refuses. If I recall correctly, Wes Nance said that he would cooperate with testing if *either* Jens *or* Elizabeth requested it. All she would need to do is sign the motion which is all prepared and ready to go.

Phyllis (in representation for Elizabeth) did not answer to Andrew here.

Söring must be in fear about the fact that Elizabeth could demand for testing at any time. Until now he has not stopped accusing her. Finally she could decide to do so in self defense.

If both were at the scene he can be sure about the fact that she never will do it...🤷
